I hope you are all keeping well and good and getting all your warm woolly jumpers out from the backs of your wardrobes. But just before you all hibernate away for the winter I need you to please stick the 30th June (Friday) and 1st July (Saturday) into your calendars for the 2017 O’Brien Trophy annual competition.
We’ll be heading to the sunny “Gold Coast Golf Resort and Hotel Dungarvan Co. Waterford.” Yep, it was a winner a few years ago and it seems to tick all our boxes for 2017.

Accommodation
So the very reduced price I got the hotel was for….
- 2 nights bed & breakfast and 1 dinner €125 per adult
1 night bed & breakfast plus 1 dinner €79 per adult - In the case of children sharing the adults room the rate is 50% for under 12s and free for under 3s.
- The booking pass code is “Frankie Fenton is my number one favourite cousin” or “O.B.T. 2017” please mention when booking or prices will go up considerably higher.
They will hold a certain amount of rooms as before and each family can ring to guarantee their own booking and specifications,
If families would like a house or a longer stay there will be a reduced rate as long as they mention “O.B.T. 2017“.
She’s holding enough for 40 to 50 for now but that can grow as we get closer. Obviously it’s better for them and us if you book earlier so please do it now while you’re reading this and thinking about it…. don’t leave until last minute to avoid disappointment. Just dial 058 45050. Do it now!
Golf
For our OBT party the price per person will be 30 euro. In addition, golf buggys can be rented for 20 euro and it is advisable to book these well in advance. There will be a 9 and an 18 hole option. I’ve asked to book as many of these as possible but im waiting to hear back on that. I understand the importance of getting as many of these as possible I’ll let you know how this goes. I have provisionally booked our group in for 10.30am on Saturday July 1st 2017. First Annual OTT
For those of you who don’t play golf….which is actually a huge number going on my 2016 survey….this year we’ll be introducing the very first O’Brien Table Tennis (or the OTT) Tournament or Ping Pong….which this year will be open for ages between 7 and 127 with a brand new OBT super secret special surprise prize. (Ideas and donations very welcome for this) The price to enter will be €3 per person. This is the first year of this so please do get involved. A bit of craic while the others are playing golf anyway.
